JOHANNESBURG – Recent investigations into fraudulent medical claims have revealed significant abuses within the health sector, with lawyers allegedly at the forefront of many crimes.

The Health Minister and the Special Investigating Unit have highlighted that over R3-billion has been saved by exposing fraudulent claims — a figure that underscores the scale of the problem.
In response, the Road Accident Fund has pledged to assist in investigations, offering valuable information to the SIU and Department of Health.
